National Drive Electric Week is a nationwide celebration to heighten awareness of today’s widespread availability of electric vehicles and their benefits for people and the environment. Please join Nebraska Sierra Club and allied organizations for one or both of these events:
- Omaha – Sunday Sep. 9, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Creighton University Skutt Student Center Ballroom. Creighton University near downtown is providing the site for this year’s National Drive Electric Week event in Omaha. In addition to an extensive display of electric vehicles including electric assisted bicycles, there will be indoor educational presentations and information tables by local organizations and dealers promoting clean, sustainable modes of transportation. The indoor venue (Skutt Student Center Ballroom) and outdoor venues will close at 3:00 pm. The event is open to the general public and free including parking. - Lincoln – Sunday Sep. 16, 12:00-4:00pm at the Hy-Vee parking lot on N. 27th St. (5020 N. 27th St., 68521.
South end of parking lot – beside the Tesla Charging Stations). Co-sponsored by Hy-Vee, Nebraska Sierra Club, Nebraska Interfaith Power and Light, Nebraska Wildlife Federation, Nebraskans for Solar and other allied environmental groups. In addition to an extensive display of electric vehicles including electric assisted bicycles, there will be information tables by local organizations and dealers promoting clean, sustainable modes of transportation. Chat with drivers of electric vehicles and learn from their experience.
